Well, technically, you can't construct the physical frame with Hamachi, the neat "wide area local network" application, but you can come close.
Looking for a way to send pictures of my children to my mother's PC, I found that e-mail was too difficult, too slow, and didn't do what I wanted. To wit: setting the pictures up as a slideshow on her PC.
Enter Hamachi, which allows this to work fairly well, assuming you visit the location of the target PC and set it up:
1. Set up a Hamachi network with your intended PC as one of the members.

You don't need the premium version to do this, btw.
2. Using sharing, "share" a folder on the PC (I use the "My Pictures" folder and a subfolder whose name I know).
3. Point the windows slideshow screen saver to this folder.
4. Ensure Hamachi boots with the PC.
From then on, it's a fairly simple matter to log in to Hamatchi, connect to the other PC, open the shared folder, and delete and upload at will. Based on your connection and the encryption overhead with Hamatchi, this can take a while, so you might want to reduce the resolution of the pictures.
Result? A slideshow that you update remotely whenever you wish, and a satisfied parent or grandparent who need only let the screensaver come on to see them.
Enjoy!
